The Friends of the Millicent Library is thrilled to announce a sponsorship of $200 from Rockland Trust Bank to purchase pumpkins for children to paint for the 2023 Fairhaven Kids Fest taking place on Saturday, October 14, from 10 AM - 3 PM. Pumpkins from the Friends booth are free for children attending the event. (While supplies last)
This event is sponsored by the Fairhaven Office of Tourism and Millicent Library Youth Services.
Craft vendors, children’s activities, special guests, and entertainment are planned for this fun fall Saturday outdoors on the lawns of Fairhaven High School and the Visitors Center. Meet and act like a pirate with Pirates of the Cape, paint a pumpkin, go "pumpkin bowling," climb aboard an antique fire engine, and enjoy other family fun.
Food will include hot dogs by Boy Scout Troop 52, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches by the George H. Taber Lodge, Domino's pizza slices from the Fairhaven Lions Club, Dorothy Cox's ice cream, Del's Frozen Lemonade, baked goods, popcorn, and more.
You’ll be able to find a used costume, too, at the Fairhaven Sustainability Committee’s Halloween Swap booth.
Barbosa Farm will have pumpkins for sale.
Children will be able to paint pumpkins at the neighboring Friends of the Millicent Libray booth. The Friends will also have a limited supply of free pumpkins on a first-come, first-served basis.
PACE Child Care Works will have a free fall craft activity, as will other booths.
The Belonging Committee will return with a sensory-friendly safe space where all ages and abilities can relax, color, play, make a new friend and explore. Changing Station will also be available for our littlest friends.
Other activities are in the works. Watch more for details as the date gets closer!
