Meet The Board
President of the Board
I am only a summer resident in Fairhaven but I am full time advocate for Millicent Library. My library experience was acquired in 2010 when I co-founded The Providence Community Library which consists of 10 neighborhood libraries in Providence, RI. Millicent is such a gem. I want to work to make it more inviting and accessible to users of all ages. I hope you will not only want to be a user, but a Friend who helps build support for this great resource.
Beth Luey moved to Fairhaven in 2006, after retiring from the History Department at Arizona State University. An avid reader, she is also a writer. Inspired by Fairhaven's historic houses, she wrote House Stories: The Meanings of Home in a New England Town, and two books titled At Home--one about historic houses in eastern Massachusetts and the second about those in central and western Massachusetts. She volunteers in the archives at Millicent Library, without which she could not have written House Stories.
